Non-skating Officials (NSOs) are an essential part of roller derby. They undertake the jobs that allow a bout to happen and also play a huge part in the game itself. You will see anywhere up to 15 NSOs around the track at a bout (usually wearing grey) recording scores, tracking penalties, starting jams and other vital roles.
Without NSOs the game doesn’t happen, it’s that simple. If you are interested in NSO’ing or would like some further information on the roles of an NSO, please contact us here.
